1. Campers, volunteers, staff and visitors should screen for Covid-19 every day before coming to camp. Parent(s)/guardian(s) can fill out the screening form on behalf of a child. 
2. Complete the Covid-19 School and Child Care Screening.
3. Any individual who does not pass the screening or has any other illness should stay home from camp until their illness and symptoms resolve.

If an individual beings to experience symptoms at camp:

1. Individuals will be separated from others and supervised until they can go home.
2. Cleaning of the camp will be conducted 
3. Individuals with symptoms should be tested

If an individual tests positive (PCR or Rapid Antigen Test) or has symptoms: 

1. A Parent/Guardian should notify the camp director.
2. They must self-isolate for 5 days (if vaccinated or under 12 years of age) or 10 days (if unvaccinated and older than 12 years of age).
3. Cleaning of the camp will be conducted.
4. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of individuals who were identified as close contacts will be notified and must monitor symptoms for the next 10 days. 
5. Masking is recommended for the camper with Covid-19 for 5 (vaccinated or under 12) or 10 (unvaccinated and over 12) days after isolation is complete. For those exposed to a positive case, masking is recommended for the remainder of the camp week.

Epic does not require masks to be worn indoors or outdoors. If you would like to wear a mask, you are more than welcome to.

1. Cleaning will be conducted frequently throughout the day.
2. A custodian will clean the site every night after camp.
3. All cleaning products used will have a DIN number.

1. We highly recommend that your child comes to camp with a hat, sunglasses, and lots of sunscreen (SPF 30+)! 
2. We encourage the use of sun protection between the hours of 10am and 3pm. 
3. It is essential that campers and staff are hydrating frequently throughout the day.

1. All staff will adhere to the child protection policy that is signed during the hiring process.
2. All staff, 18 and older, must provide a vulnerable sector criminal check during the hiring process.

As such, we will provide and promote a safe family environment and atmosphere. In respect to holding those same values, it is essential that we adopt a safe camp environment.

 Epic does not tolerate any form of bullying and/or harassment. Bullying is to be taken very seriously. If you witness a situation in which a guest is being bullied by other guests, you need to IMMEDIATELY inform a staff member. We have a zero-tolerance policy. This means that parents are immediately informed of the first signs or occurrences of bullying and/or violence. The parents and the Directors will decide the consequences together, or the child will be sent home.

Remember: Bullying does not just refer to a physically aggressive situation. Bullying also refers to any psychological or emotional intimidation that creates a power imbalance. It can mean any social rejection, verbal abuse, rumours and/or leaving one another out.

If your child has any medication prescribed by a physician that they will require to take during camp hours, please notify the Camp Director. 

• This medication must also come with a written letter of consent, allowing the Camp Director to give the medication at the required times. 
• Medication must be stored in the original container, and labelled with the camper’s name, and the required doses and any other instructions.
• In case of a life-threatening situation where the participant is unable to administer medication such as an epi-pen or asthma inhalers, program leaders will assist. 
  • Epi pens and asthma puffers must be carried by the participant or in some cases the participant’s counsellor as indicated on the registration form by the parent or guardian. 
• Medication must be signed into the care of a summer camp program director. It will then be signed back into the care of a parent or guardian at the end of the day or week as requested.

1. Each site will be provided with a direct phone number for parents to contact
2. We recommend using water bottles instead of drinking directly from water fountains. Water fountains may be used to refill water bottles. 
3. Individuals should wear shoes at all times. Excpetions may occur during water games.
4. Food brought from home will not be shared at camp.
5. Personal belongings bright to camp should be minimized to the essentials.
   • Do not bring toys and other things campers will want to use and share.
   • Individual items (sunscreen, water bottle, lunch bags, etc.) should be labeled.
